However, passing the 1.5°C threshold in the upcoming years does not necessarily mean that the Paris Agreement limit has been broken. Scientists emphasise that there is still time to mitigate global warming by implementing substantial emission reductions.

The intelligent lighting system not only enhanced lighting provision but also contributed to creating a greener and safer city for Aberdeen's residents. The project aligned with Aberdeen City Council's Net Zero Aberdeen Route Map, helping them achieve their net-zero targets by improving energy efficiency and lowering carbon emissions. The success of this project was acknowledged nationally, as it won the Sustainable Customer Project of the Year category at the CRN Tech Impact Awards.
