Net Zero
Alongside becoming a carbon-neutral company, North’s aim is to achieve Net Zero emissions.
Leading climate scientists have stated that to halt climate change and the subsequent impacts, a net zero economy is essential. The term net zero means achieving a balance between carbon emissions emitted into the atmosphere, and the carbon removed from it.
The most significant contribution North is making towards minimising environmental impact, is reducing carbon emissions. While having the status of a carbon neutral company, North intends to go beyond this to achieve net zero, including Scope 3 emissions, alongside Scope 1 and 2 in their reduction target, which means identifying indirect emissions, such as staff mileage and goods and services purchased by the company. North’s journey to net zero, aligns with UK Government targets of net zero emissions by 2050.
