Connecting historic buildings with 21st century next generation Wi-Fi
The Parkgate Hotel is Cardiff’s finest new luxury hotel within touching distance of Principality Stadium. Echoing all the elegance and glamour of its historic setting, the hotel offers a chic spot to meet, eat and relax.
The hotel is the result of a conversion of two of Cardiff’s oldest buildings, with the old Post Office, built in 1897, and the County Court in Cardiff transformed into a luxurious 170-room hotel. The development is part of an exciting collaboration between the Welsh Rugby Union, property developer Rightacres and The Celtic Collection, the group behind the iconic Celtic Manor Resort.
Catering to both business and leisure, it was essential to the developers that the best possible Wi-Fi experience was available for guests at the hotel and North was brought in to install next-generation Wi-Fi 6 technology for higher speed and superior performance.
Utilising best in class enterprise-grade networking and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, we propelled these historic buildings into the 21st-century, futureproofing the venue, enabling further digital services going forward, and improving the experience for guests with consistently excellent connectivity in all public spaces and hotel rooms.
As part of the project, we installed 234 access points, optimising Wi-Fi in high-density areas, while integrating bespoke network solutions that will ensure staff have access to greater operational efficiencies to enhance the guest experience.
