North supports Reading Borough Council’s 36th Water Fest
North is proud to sponsor Reading Borough Council’s Water Fest as it returns for its 36th year on Saturday 28th June. A free family-friendly event organised by Reading Borough Council in partnership with the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust, celebrates the town’s waterways and rich history.
As part of Reading’s broader commitment to sustainability, the Council were one of ten local authorities participating in the national Green Events Code of Practice (GECoP) pilot, working to implement environmentally friendly practices across its events. Initiatives include the use of renewable energy sources, provision of water refill stations to reduce single-use plastics, and enhanced recycling and food waste management systems. These efforts align with the Council’s goal to become a carbon-neutral borough by 2030 and they continue to use sustainable practices for Water Fest 2025.
North is honoured to sponsor this event, reflecting our partnership with Reading Borough Council. Together, we deliver critical services such as managed networks and safety and security solutions. Our collaboration supports the Council’s dedication to sustainability, community initiatives, and the delivery of essential public services that benefit the local community every day.
We invite everyone to join us at Water Fest 2025 to celebrate Reading’s heritage, enjoy the festivities, and learn more about sustainable practices that contribute to a greener future.
