North shortlisted in two categories for the CRN's Sustainability in Tech Awards
North has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Sustainability Champion and Sustainable Customer Project of the Year category at the CRN Sustainability in Tech Awards, recognising our dedication to driving transformational environmental change.
The Sustainability Champion category acknowledges companies at the forefront of sustainability and ESG and who are taking steps to reduce their environmental impact and helping their customers to harness digital technologies that drive environmental sustainability and enhance the wellbeing of communities.
The Sustainable Customer Project of the Year nomination recognises the Smart Waste Management solution delivered by North for the City of Edinburgh Council, which is enhancing city management and the citizen experience by utilising data captured to drive environmental change. Driven by CGI’s industry-leading Smart City Platform, North was selected to deliver the 11,000 sensor Smart Waste Solution throughout the city and to provide supporting connectivity through IoT Scotland. By capturing intelligent data, the smart waste management solution enables the Council to monitor waste levels, optimise collection routes, and reduce unnecessary emissions from waste collection vehicles. Contributing to the City of Edinburgh Council’s goal of achieving Net Zero by 2030 creating a cleaner and greener city and supporting their vision to become one of the world’s leading Smart Cities.
The Sustainability in Tech Awards recognise and reward companies that are making a real difference in the fight to stop global warming, and who are making huge advancements in the journey to Net Zero.
Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Thursday 8th February.
