Birmingham 2022 appoints North as Official Smart Environments Provider for the Games.

North has been appointed as Official Smart Environments Provider for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, enabling smart environmental air quality monitoring at key locations in and around the city of Birmingham and across the West Midlands.
 
Following significant growth in recent years, North will provide the end-to-end design, delivery, and integration of the low powered, long range network and air quality sensor-based managed service for Birmingham 2022.
 
North has a strong record of providing specialist services to major sporting events including the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, as well as multiple Ryder Cups and The Open Golf Championships.
 
The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will see athletes from 72 nations and territories compete in 19 sports across 15 competition venues from 28 July until 8 August 2022. 
 
North’s smart technology specialists will use sensor driven data to measure, monitor and report real-time air quality conditions before, during and after the Games, providing key data-driven intelligent insights to support Birmingham 2022’s ambition to become the first Commonwealth Games to establish a carbon-neutral legacy.
