North Secures 5-year Contract to Enhance Public Space CCTV Across Tayside
North has been awarded a 5-year contract to support the comprehensive public space video surveillance for three local authorities across the Tayside area – Dundee City Council, Perth & Kinross Council and Angus Council.
The contract includes the service and maintenance of all Public Space CCTV cameras and their Video Management System (VMS), with camera feeds from 190 cameras across all three authorities. All camera feeds are integrated into a single regional control centre operated by Police Scotland, delivering a holistic view of the area enhancing public safety, deterring crime, and keeping public spaces safer for residents and visitors.
Backed by North’s comprehensive support services and ITIL service management platform the system will be maintained to the highest standards of security and performance ensuring maximum uptime, robust protection, and the best possible use of technology to keep communities safe and connected.
As part of this contract, North has committed to a comprehensive community benefits programme which leverages its expertise in connectivity and IoT to directly address local social and environmental challenges. This initiative will support local organisations, local schools, colleges and community members across the Tayside area. In addition, North will partner with each authority to deliver a social value commitment per authority per year of the contract directly benefiting local communities.
