H&F and North shortlisted for The MJ Achievement Award for Innovation in Public–Private Partnership
Hammersmith & Fulham Council and North have been shortlisted for The MJ Achievement Awards in the Innovation in Public-Private Partnership category, recognising our Shared Services for Safer Communities model.
The ambitious partnership was originally formed to address ageing CCTV infrastructure, rising antisocial behaviour and increasing pressure on frontline services. Following a competitive process, North was appointed to deliver a multi-year transformation programme built on a shared vision, adaptability and long-term value.
The £4.5m programme modernised Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s CCTV estate, including:
- Unifying three legacy systems into a single, resilient platform
- Expanding and redesigning the council’s control centre
- Network infrastructure refresh
- Upgrading coverage to 2,500 cameras
- Introducing advanced AI-driven video analytics
Crucially, the solution was designed from the outset as a shared-services model. This enables neighbouring authorities, the Metropolitan Police and stadium operators to integrate operations, strengthen community safety and avoid significant capital costs.
The partnership has delivered substantial operational, financial and social impact, including reductions across the following key crime categories and enhanced safety for H&F’s Law Enforcement Team:
- 29% reduction in vehicle theft
- 35% fall in robberies
- 33% reduction in hate crime offences
- 30% reduction in burglary
- 44% reduction in knife crime
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on the 19th of June.
